I didn't really write about Helldriver in this piece I wrote for Capital New York about Nishimura and Japan Society's screening of Helldriver. But basically: it's sloppy, distended but frequently amusing. His most ambitious film to date (the world he built here is a little more complex than the one he inTokyo Gore Police). But also a lot of dead air, too (No pun intended).
