Again, largely drawing a blank. I appreciated the fetishized seediness and Dafoe's performance but the story is pretty inconsequential. I remember thinking of it as something like "Abel Ferrara Makes His Own Fellini Movie." I'll rewatch and hopefully, within the context of his films from the aughts, I'll have something more to say.
